William was born about March 1768 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on April 8th, 1768 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1  William's father was Giles Belchar (Baker) and his mother was Elizabeth Mears.  His paternal grandparents were Belchar and <Unknown>; his maternal grandfather was William Mears (Vintner of St Mary Whitechapel) and his maternal grandmother is Amy (Need to check). He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Joseph, James, Sarah, Sarah, Amey and Eliza.  He died on October 9th, 1846.  The funeral took place on October 15th, 1846 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  He was buried on October 15th, 1846 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.2 3 4

William and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on November 15th, 1791 at St Margaret's Barking witnessed by Ann & John Cuff  - Thomas & Parnel Dewin.5   They had two sons and four daughters, named William, Richard , Elizabeth, Mary, Emma and Agatha.
