William was born on March 8th, 1897 at 107 Acasia Av Walthamstow. William's father was Robert Henry Amos (HeatingEng Footballer Grave 224  M) and his mother was Sarah Rogers (of Weathersfield).  His paternal grandparents were William of Coggeshall Amos (Silk Weaver) and Susannah Crisell (Hand Loom Weaver Silk b Gt Cornard); his maternal grandparents were Thomas Rogers (of Weathersfield) and Orpha French (of Weathersfield). He had two brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Roland, Ethel, Mabel, Ada and Doll.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died due to a medical problem, T.B., at the age of 51 on April 16th, 1948 at 56 Hickling Road Ilford Essex.  The funeral took place at St Mary's Ilford and was arranged by H. L. Hawes 70 Ilford lane Ilford.  He was buried at St Mary's Ilford.1

William and Margaret were married in a civil ceremony on September 27th, 1919 in St Pancras Registry Office witnessed by A.F.Cumings  W.A. Sapshead.2  They had two sons and six daughters, named William, Robert, Gladys, Dorothy, Vera, Hilda, Valerie and Janet.
