Herman Wladyslaw I was born in 1040 in Krakow, Poland. Herman Wladyslaw I's father was Kazimierz-I "Odnowiciel" Piast Dynasty King of Poland and his mother was Maria Dobroniega Vladimirovna of Kiev. His paternal grandparents were Mieszko II Lambert Piast Dynasty King of Poland and Rycheza Lotarynska Countess of Lorraine; his maternal grandparents were Vladimir-I (Basilus;The Saint) of Kiev and Anna of Byzantium. He was the oldest of four children. He had two brothers and a sister, named Boleslaw-II "Szczodry", Mieszko and Swietoslawa. He died at the age of 62 on June 4th, 1102 in Plotzk.
