John and Bethana were married in a civil ceremony on December 7th, 1841 in Lauderdale County, Alabama by D. Joiner, Justice of the Peace.  They had seven sons and five daughters, named James William, John Dixion (Dixon), Ephraim Newton, Benjamin Gilbert, James Minton, William Henry, (infant), Mary Catharine, Eliza Jane, Bethany Elizabeth, Zylpha Ann and Rebecca Melvina.

Male John GRAY
John was born on January 26th, 1820 in Tennessee.1   He died at the age of 44 on October 20th, 1864 in Lauderdale County, Alabama.  His burial was in Wright Cemetery, overlooking Opossum Creek near Center Hill, Lauderdale County, Alabama.2 2 

Female Bethana WRIGHT
Bethana was born on February 11th, 1826 in Lauderdale County, Alabama.3   She died at the age of 58 on January 14th, 1885 in Lauderdale County, Alabama.  Her burial was in Wright Cemetery, overlooking Opossum Creek near Center Hill, Lauderdale County, Alabama.2 2

Mary Catharine was born on January 29th, 1844.

Female Eliza Jane GRAY
Eliza Jane was born on September 15th, 1845.  She died at the age of 82 on March 30th, 1928.

Male James William GRAY
James William was born on April 20th, 1846.  He died at the age of 42 on April 12th, 1889.

Female Bethany Elizabeth GRAY
Bethany Elizabeth was born on March 28th, 1848.  She died at the age of 71 on April 2nd, 1919.

Male John Dixion (Dixon) GRAY
John Dixion (Dixon) was born on August 12th, 1849.  He died at the age of 75 in 1924.

Male Ephraim Newton GRAY
Ephraim Newton was born on March 29th, 1851.  He died at the age of 68 on November 19th, 1919.

Male Benjamin Gilbert GRAY
Benjamin Gilbert was born on February 25th, 1853.  He died at the age of 65 on October 17th, 1918.

Female Zylpha Ann GRAY
Zylpha Ann was born on November 12th, 1854.  She died at the age of 81 on May 21st, 1936.

Male James Minton GRAY
James Minton was born on December 15th, 1856.  He died at the age of 41 on April 18th, 1898.

Male William Henry GRAY
William Henry was born on January 23rd, 1859.  He died at the age of 79 on January 7th, 1939.

Female Rebecca Melvina GRAY
Rebecca Melvina was born on January 15th, 1861.  She died at the age of 71 on September 14th, 1932.
