Samuel WADE

Samuel was born on September 23rd, 1850. Samuel's father was Benedict Joseph WADE and his mother was Marietta GIBSON. His paternal grandparents were Evan WADE and Mary Ellen BREWER; his maternal grandparents were William Beauchamp GIBSON and Sarah (Sally) GOUGH. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Thomas A., William S., James M., Andrew Jackson, George L., Maria J., Sarah Ellen, Julia Ann, Anna E., Martha and Mary F.. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He had a half-brother named Zibea. He died at the age of 93 on August 28th, 1944.

  Judy Neff, Evansville Diocese: Samuel Wade, son of Benedict J. Wade and Mary Gibson, was baptized 13 April 1851 at St. Mary, Barr Township at the age of 6 months. His wife, Elizabeth, was baptized 25 September 1889 at the age of 35 due to danger of death. She was pregnant with Charles Carroll shown below. She died 3 January 1890 and is buried at St. Michael. Samuel Wade, son of Benedict and Mary Wade, married Sara Catharine Wathen after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth.
