Clementine TAELMAN

Clementine was born on March 2nd, 1873. Clementine's father was Jean-Baptiste TAELMAN and her mother was Sophie BENOODT. Her maternal grandparents were Bernard BENOODT and Abe H. LOOTENS. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Jules, Alphonse, August Joseph, Marie-Valerie and Octavie. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 80 on September 15th, 1953.

  According to Celemtine's granddaughter Carolyn, many of the Taelmans came from Antwerp and were shopkeepers; however, the records suggest that Clementine's forebears found their base between Bruges and Ghent; however, her older sister Marie-Valerie did live near Antwerp/Mechelen, acc. to Roger Baeckelandt.
  
  Marriage date: August's obit says 1896 & Clementine's says 3 Jan 1898.
  
  Clementine reached Ellis Island on the SS Finland on 14 Oct 1905, traveling with children.
