    Steve Strouzer:  As far as the barbering connection is concerned, all of the brothers were barbers to start with, and great-grandfather Michael in Lublin was a barber-surgeon - haircuts, dentistry, minor operations, accoucheur, etc. Zigmund, Isaac, Joseph and Sam were all barbers, my dad was, and so ws his sister Rose (ladies' hairdresser).

    Struza (Struza)
    A village on a straight lane, some 600m north of the Gielczew river. The land between the village and the river is mainly meadows plus one small wood. To the north of the village, the land is undulating to flat, and highway 82 is some 800m away in that direction.
    Struza Kol. (Struza Kol.)
    Some houses at the junction of minor highway 829 with highway 82, with a scattering of farmsteads across the relatively flat open arable land on the north side of the highway. Just to the south is the Gielczew river.  ...Postal code is 21-043.

    One of Poland's most important Jewish communities was also established in Lublin around this time. It continued to be a vital part of the city's life until the community ceased to exist during the Nazi Holocaust. Between 1580 and 1764 the Jewish Council of Four Lands Arba Aracot (Sejm of 4 countries) was held in Lublin. 70 delegates of Jewish local kahals met to discuss issue of taxations and other important for Jewish communities issues.
