    Sam was born in Russian Poland (Lublin area?) to Michael and Chaya in 1889.  He emigrated to London around 1900 and worked as a barber.  Sam married Pauline Sugarman, and they had three children, all born in London:  Michael (Mickey) (b. 1919; d. Los Angeles, 1981), Helen (Chaya) (b. 1924; d. London, 1954), and Cyril (b. 1931).  Sam died on October 20, 1952 and is buried in the Edmondton Federation Cemetery in London.  In December 2005, Cyril was living in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
    
    Steve Strouzer:  As far as the barbering connection is concerned, all of the brothers were barbers to start with, and great-grandfather Michael in Lublin was a barber-surgeon - haircuts, dentistry, minor operations, accoucheur, etc. Zigmund, Isaac, Joseph and Sam were all barbers, my dad was, and so ws his sister Rose (ladies' hairdresser.)
