  • Joe Townsend:  ...Lucy Sledge that married a James Gray Nov. 9, 1820, in Williamson Co., TN.  They are mention in the will of Lucy`s father.his name was john Sledge the Inventory of Sale May 1823 by John P. Shelburne, Admr.Allotment to widow Cynthia Sledge and her family, being 8 in numger- 7 May 1822.  Settlement made to: Henry, Cynthia, John, Timothy, Daniel, Sterling, Sally Sledge and James Gray. (James Gray married Lucy Sledge Nov. 9, 1820).  The only thing wrong with this that our John Gray was born Jan. 26, 1820.  Of course yhry could have had the baby before marriage, who knows.
