D. A. was born in 1864.  D. A.'s father was Frederick W. RIVERS and his mother was Cyntha M. KNIGHT?.  His paternal grandparents were William RIVERS and Betsy RIVERS.  He had seven brothers and four sisters, named James Frederick, Peter W., Dempsey, William M., John B., Marcus M. C., Richard M., Margaret, Elizabeth T., Hulda A. and Cyntha Jane.  He was the eleventh oldest of the twelve children.
