    Minor Frank PATE, seventy-five years old, one of the oldest members of the Greene County Bar Association, for
    fifty years a practicing lawyer in Bloomfield, died at noon Tuesday at his home here. Mr. Pate was a native of Jackson township and lived in Bloomfield during all but two years of his entire life. When a young man he taught school here and in the late seventies attended Indiana University, taking a literary course. He
    later attended the law school at DePauw University and was graduated from there in the early eighties. He immediately opened a law office in Bloomfield following his graduation and had been practicing until about a year ago.
    
    He was at one time the referee for bankruptcy in this district and in 1912 was Republican nominee for judge of the appellate court of Indiana. In 1930 Mr. Pate was town clerk-treasurer and that same year was a candidate for
    prosecuting attorney of Greene county.
    
    He had been in failing health for some time, but just two weeks ago suffered a heart attack and died Tuesday. Hie is survived by three sons, Lawrence, of South Bend; Marvin, of Union City, and George, at home, and one daughter Amy Catherine, at home. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church here, where he was a member for the past forty years.
    
    Minor Frank PATE, youngest son of Minor and Martha (SHANKLIN) PATE, was born on a farm near the village of
    Dresden, in Jackson township, Greene, county, Indiana, March 28, 1856, and died at his home on West Main street in Bloomfield, July 4, 1933, aged seventy-five years, three months and six days. He was the last surviving os seven children.
    
    He got his early schooling in the schools of his home community and in the nearby Normal schools that were held in the days of his youth. He then taught school in this and other counties, in order to procure the funds with which to complete his education. It was completed in Indiana and DePauw Universities, he graduating from the latter in law in March, 1887.
    
    His partnership in law firms was with the late James R. BAXTER. During his law profession he has been associated
    with Harvey LETSINGER, Thomas VAN BUSKIRK and A. G. PATE.
    
    Shortly after his graduation, in the year 1887, he came to Bloomfield and entered upon the practice of his chosen profession. He continued the practice of law here until 1913, when he and his family went to Corpus Christi, Texas,and remained two years. They returned in 1915 and made this his and their home the remainder of the time, he agin taking up the practice of law.
    
    On June 17, 1890 he was united in marriage with Miss Hasseltine BAXTER, with whom he lived happily eighteen years, until she was called home June 16, 1908. To this union three children were born: James Baxter, who preceded his father in death, and Lawrence T., and Marvin F., who survive him. On October 10, 1910, he was wedded to Miss Lula D. CLEMENS and again, on March 10, 1931, a happy married life was disrupted by the death of his wife. Two children born to this union, Amy Catherine and George William, both of whom survive.  He united with the Christian church early in life and has always been a devout, zealous and faithful member, who carried the teachings and principles of his religion into his daily life and practice. He has ever stood firmly for the right as he saw it and has been a constant advocate and worker for the better things for his community.
    
    He was a member of the Masonic lodge and had attained to the highest offices in the local bodies to which he
    belonged.
    
    Besides his children and other relatives he leaves many friends who mourn his passing.
    
    Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Christian church. Interment in Grand View cemetery.
