PATE 2 IN and female (V)era) PATE 4/12 IN.  (Notes:  Presumed dtr Mary Ann m. in Feb of 1850.  There is also a Benjamin PATE 1822 KY in Van Buren, Daviess, IN in 1850.  Mary Ann married in Van Buren Twp in 1850.  There are no PATE h/holds in Lawrence Cty in 1850.  There is a Henry PATES 1787 VA in Shelby Co., IN.)

    (Note:  This Allen PATE apparently migrated from KY to IN between 1837 and 1839, per children's birth places.  Per her death certificate, completed by her son Louis Brooks Spalding, Mary Ann's DPOB was 19 Dec 1831 IN; but the 1870 and 1880 censuses give her POB as KY, which would be consistent with this Allen PATE's record.)
