    Jerusha Champlin, daughter of Francis Cole Champlin and Rachel Gibbons, was born in Ohio on April 25, 1844 and died in Madison township (Vinton County) Ohio on November 18, 1917. She was buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
    
    On October 22, 1863 Jerusha married Joseph T. Bond in Vinton County, Ohio. Joseph was a miner and was born on October 16, 1836. He probably was the brother of John Anderson Bond who married Jerusha's sister, Nancy.
    
    Joseph and Jerusha (Champlin) Bond had children:

    Sirus C. Bond died October 22, 1865.
    
    Rachel Jane Bond died May 26, 1885.
    
    David Worden Bond married Nancy H. Jones and they had eleven children.
    
    Cora Irene Bond died September 5, 1880.
    
    Irene Minerva Bond married John Wolfe in Vinton County on December 17, 1906. He was a miner.
    
    In the 1870 Census, Joseph was a farm laborer in Vinton County, Ohio. They were living on a farm next door to Jerusha's parents.
    
    In the 1880 Census, Joseph Bond (33 Penn) was a farm laborer enumerated in Clinton (Vinton County) Ohio with wife Jerusha (32 Ohio), daughter Rachel (13 Ohio), daughter Emily (10 Ohio), son David (8 Ohio), son Perry (5 Ohio) and son Francis (2 Ohio).
    
    In the 1900 Census, Joseph is a farm laborer living with Jerusha in a rented home in Brown Township (Vinton County) Ohio.
    
    In the 1910 Census, Joseph and Jerusha were living in a rented house on Vine Street, Zaleski Village, Madison Township (Vinton County) Ohio.
    
    The Democrat Enquirer ran the following obituary:
    
    "Mrs. Joseph Bond died very suddenly at her home here last Saturday night from heart failure. She had been in her usual health and passed away before medical help could be summoned. Had she lived until next April she would have been 74 years of age. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom, with the aged father are living. She united with the Christian Church near Hamden many years ago, and when physically able and family cares permitted she was a regular in her attendance to her church. Funeral was held Tuesday P.M. Burial was made in Oak Grove Cemetery."
