William was born on August 14th, 1814.  William's father was John Anthony Sr. BUCKNER and his mother was Katherine HOROBAUGH.  His maternal grandparents were Philip HOROBAUGH and FNU LNU.  He had six brothers and a sister, named John Peyton, Anthony Leach, Alexander, David, Robert, FNU and Eleanor.  He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named James, Jefferson, Sarah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Nancy and Louisa.
