    GEORGE W. BREWER is a son of George and Anne (Carrico) Brewer.  The father was born in Maryland, in 1802, and when a lad moved with his father to Kentucky, where he grew to manhood.  In 1827 he married our subject's mother, who was born in Kentucky, in 1807.  Three years later they came to Indiana, and located in Daviess County in 1831, where they spent the remainder of their lives in agricultural pursuits.  The father died in 1867,and the mother in 1869. 
    
    Subject was born in 1832.  He attended the old-time subscription schools, and on reaching manhood his father gave him eighty acres of timber land which he began to clear. (etc.)

    Mary Ann Wade:  "The Goodspeed History of Knox and Daviess County, Indiana mentions 'three brothers of Eleanor Brewer settled in Daviess County, Indiana.'  Land Office Records show that the following 'took up' land there at an early date.

    from bio of brother-in-law Benedict J.:  bio:  BENEDICT J. WADE (...) was the fourth of a family of ten children born to Evan and Ellen (Brewer) Wade.  Evan was the grandson of one of the four brothers.  He was born in Kentucky in 1793, and in 1820 came to Lawrence County, Ind., where he resided until 1837, when he moved to Daviess County, where he spent the remainder of his days.  (...) He was a member of the Catholic Church (...)  He was one of the early pioneers and died in 1865.  The mother was a native of Maryland and when twenty-two years old moved to Kentucky.  She was born in 1790 and died in 1864.  She had three brothers who came to Daviess County, Ind., and one yet lives in Barr Township [note:  Samuel is the only BREWER Mary E.'s age in Barr, Daviess in 1880[.  The Brewer family came from Belgium to this country in the same vessel with Lord Baltimore.     There is a George W. BREWER indexed in Spencer Cty, KY in 1830, but the record is not on the page linked at ancestry.com.  There is one apparent match for the name (0002101-0) on pg. 4/62, after William PAYNE; 2nd eldest male could be a match, but where are the women?  Who are the older/younger males?
