    James Barnett's Estate.  The widow & decedent was intermarried with each other in Said County on the 8th day of Feb. 1835..  The said decedent & his wife Mahala had no children the the heirs & distributers are the Brothers and sisters of decedent as follows: Lucinda Davis & her husband Charles Davis dec'd, Mrs Pary McCluier who married Willie McCluer dec'd, I.Y. Barrnett, Elvina Barnett, Eliza White & her husband William White, Asa F. Barnett, Sarah Ann Herman wife of Stephen Herman dec'd that there is no minor Heirs & all living in the said County.  Submitted this 29th Dec. 1865.  A. F. Barnett, Adm.
    
    1860 US Census (13 Jul), residing in District 1, Lauderdale Cty, AL, post office Rogersville, head of h/hold is farmer James BARNETT, age 52, val of rea/pers est 850/4?9, b. SC, living with (wife) Mahala 53 SC, and two (children) John Vickers 12 AL (alt. John VICKERS, not their son; this may be the case, as VICKERS is a common surname in AL in 1860-1870), and Mahala E. BARNETT 15 AL.  Immediate neighbors include h/hold of farmer W. B. and Elizabeth A. DAVIS 31/26 AL/AL, which contains (James' widowed sister) Para MC CLURE 46 AL; other immediate neighbor is (James' widowed brother) A. F. BARNETT 36 SC.  (Note:  there are four individuals in AL in 1870 census b. est. 1847-49 named John VICKERS, though none is in Lauderdale Cty.)  (Note:  Mahala does not appear in James' h/hold in 1850, nor is she named in his 1865 will, which states that he and his wife were childless.)
