BB acquired death cert which says:
Died @ 7:10pm on 1st december 1894 of Psthisis Pulmonis (TB) in the City Hospital, New York. His father was Samuel and his mother Sarah, both from Ireland. His birth place is given as NS (which could be Not Sure, or maybe Nova Scotia, BB thinks). He was married!! But no name for wife. His last address was 352 8th Avenue, New York. His age was given as 34, which suggests he was born in 1860, not 1861 as per aged 9 in the 1870 Census. He is buried in New York Bay Cemetery.

A Samuel Gray, age 38, married, was a boarder in a house belonging to a William Miller in Manhattan in the 1900 Census - can NOT have been this man cause we now know he died in 1894.
A Samuel Gray was living as Head of House in the Bronx in the 1910 Census. He was married 16 years, aged 48, a Shirt Cutter. Cannot be this man as we now know he died in 1894.
