Hugh was born on May 21st, 1886. Hugh's father was James [1829-TheMeen,Plots20&21] Gordon and his mother was Jane Coulter.  His paternal grandparents were John [1858-TheMeen,Plots20&21] Gordon and Agnes "Nancy" McCook; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Coulter and Margaret Ann Bellingham. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named John, John, Thomas, Hugh, Margaret Anne, (Jane ) Elizabeth, "Annie", Mary, Essie Amelia, Martha and Sarah Matilda.  He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.  He died at 10 months old on March 28th, 1887.
