Mary's father was George Cheeseman and her mother was Fannie Bellingham.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Bellingham and (Margaret or Mary) Jane McCart. She had a brother and two sisters, named Walter, Sarah and Margaret.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
