Charles Deforist was born on February 14th, 1861.  Charles Deforist's father was Charles [Philly & 1856, 1860 - Madison, Iowa] Brewster and his mother was Eliza Jane Deforest.  His paternal grandparents were John [Glenleary] Brewster and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James Campbell, William John, Mary Deforest and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 2 on August 2nd, 1863.
