John's father was Hugh [Ballybrittain] Boyd and his mother was Catherine McNeil. His paternal grandparents were John [Collins] Boyd and Margaret Boyd. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named James, Joseph, Hugh, Catherine, Jane, Mary, Nancy, Margaret, Betty and Martha.General Notes
