TOWERS, William  Private S/14913 ~ 2nd Bn. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Born Rockfield Cottage, Potterhill, Paisley, eldest son of Thomas Peacock (writer of 16 Moss Street) & Margaret Galbraith Towers resident of Wallacelea, Glenpatrick Road, Elderslie. Educated John Neilson Institition & member of Victoria Place Baptist Church. Formerly a law apprentice with Brownlie, Watson & Beckett, Writers, Glasgow. Enlisted at Glasgow with A.&S.H., November 1915 serving with Signaliers Headquarters. Killed 17th April 1918 aged 22 ~ Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
