Plainfield Township police were busy yesterday with two crashes on Sullivan Trail.

Three were reported injured in the first crash and none in the second, said township Police Chief Craig DeFranco.

The first crash occurred around 10 a.m. near Getz Road, when a northbound car driven by Debra J. Weber, 33, of 123 S. Church St., Nazareth, attempted to turn left into Laidlaw Transit Co. and crossed the path of a car driven by 83-year-old William G. Wray of 24 Wood St., Wind Gap.

Weber, Wray and Wray's wife, Margaret, 83, were taken to Easton Hospital, police said.

Weber and William Wray were treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Margaret Wray was in satisfactory condition last night. The second crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. near Clyde Street, about three miles from the site of the first crash.

In the afternoon accident, a northbound car driven by 78-year-old Stewart A. Gross of Easton R.7 hit the rear of a car driven by Charles W. Siegel of 5743 Sullivan Trail, police said.

Siegel was stopped, waiting to turn into his driveway, police said.
