Rebecca's father was Samuel Wray and her mother was Sarah Davis.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Alexander Wray and Rebecca Steen; her maternal grandparents were John Davis and Rebecca Bouvard. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, John, William, Alexander, Fanny and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 93 on September 11th, 1959 in Edinburgh.  She was buried in Fife.³
