Samuel's father was Alexander Walker and his mother was Frances Elisabeth Wray. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Wray and Sarah Davis. He had a sister named Rebecca. He was the older of the two children. He died in October 1896 in Port Glasgow. He was buried on October 7th, 1896 in Port Glasgow.¹
