Mary's father was
John Turner and her mother was
Janet Marshall. Her paternal grandparents were
William Turner and
Jean Russell. She had five brothers and a sister, named
William,
John,
Peter,
James,
Richard and
Agnes. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died from cancer, canceroid disease of heart, duration some years, at the age of 66 on March 4th, 1863 in
Bathgate.
