Ann's father was Michael Towers and her mother was Janet Mathie. Her paternal grandparents were William Tours and Janet Fulton; her maternal grandparents were James Mathie and Euphan Cameron. She had a brother and six sisters, named William, Janet, Euphemia, Agnes, Margaret, <Unknown> and <Unknown>. She died at the age of 69 in 1912 in Paisley.
