Agnes' father was Thomas Peacock Towers and her mother was Maggie Galbraith. Her paternal grandparents were William Towers and Agnes Peacock. She had four brothers named William, John, Thomas and Joseph. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 85 in 1983 in Banff.
