Agnes' father was William Towers and her mother was Agnes Thomson. Her paternal grandparents were William Tours and Margaret Colquhoun. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, William and Maggie. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died from cancer, Carcinoma of breast, 2 years, heart failure, at the age of 38 on February 7th, 1915 in Toronto. She was buried in Toronto.³⁴
