Cecilia's father was William Tours and her mother was Janet Fulton.  Her paternal grandparents were Michaill Towrs and Agnes Stewart; her maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named William, William, James, Michael, William, George, John, Alexander, Agnes and Margaret.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  She died due to a medical problem, anasarca, duration 3 months, at the age of 68 on December 22nd, 1866 in Paisley.³
