James Thomson

James was born on July 5th, 1800 in Bathgate and his baptism took place there on July 7th, 1800.^1 2

James' father was James Thomson and his mother was Mary Bruce.  His maternal grandparents were William Bruce and Janet Newlands. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, George, Archibald, Janet, Margaret, Mary, Catherine and Janet.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 81 on December 23rd, 1881 in Bo'ness.  He was buried on December 27th, 1881 in Bathgate.^3 4 5
