George Thomson (Thompson)

George was born on May 2nd, 1798 in Bathgate and his baptism took place there on May 8th, 1798.^1 2

George's father was James Thomson and his mother was Mary Bruce.  His maternal grandparents were William Bruce and Janet Newlands. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, James, Archibald, Janet, Margaret, Mary, Catherine and Janet.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 78 on April 29th, 1877 in Paddockhall farm.  He was buried on May 3rd, 1877 in Bathgate.^3 4 5
