Joseph Steen

Joseph was born on April 27th, 1869 in Raphoe.¹   Joseph's father was Matthew Steen and his mother was Margaret Devenny.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Josiah Steen and Marjory Devinney; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Devenny and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Matthew, Samuel, Rebecca, Jane, Margaret and Mary.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died from cancer, carcinoma of prostrate, 4 months, at the age of 74 on May 26th, 1943 in Dromore townland.  He was buried in Raphoe.^2 3
