Margaret's father was David Rennie and her mother was Agnes Miller.  Her paternal grandparents were James Rennie and Janet Stronach. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, David and Janet.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 66 in 1912 in Govan.
