Jessie was born on May 14th, 1861 in Anderston.1  Jessie's father was James Rennie and her mother was Catherine Stobo.  Her paternal grandparents were John Rennie and Euphemia McKichan. She had a brother and two sisters, named John, Eliza and Catherine.  She was the youngest of the four children.
