Jean's father was James Rennie and her mother was Jean (Jeanie) Robertson. Her paternal grandparents were David Rennie and Jeanie Muirhead. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, David, Alexander, Art, Annie and Edna. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 84 on January 11th, 1983 in British Columbia.
