James' father was David Rennie and his mother was Jeanie Muirhead.  His paternal grandparents were Alexander Rennie and Janet Ross. He had five brothers named Alexander, David, David, Robert and John.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Flora.  He died at the age of 83 on June 23rd, 1958 in Minneapolis.  The funeral took place on June 27th, 1958 in Minneapolis.  He was buried on June 27th, 1958 in Minneapolis.^3 3
