James Paton 
James was born in 1831 in Midlothian.1 James' father was James Paton and his mother was Henrietta Baxter. His maternal grandparents were Ronald Baxter and Isabella Erskine. He had a brother and three sisters, named George, Henriette, Susan and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the five children.-
