Theophilus (John) John Paterson

Theophilus, known as John, was born on March 4th, 1787 in St. Cuthbert's parish and his baptism took place there on March 9th, 1787.^1 2

John's father was George Paterson and his mother was Christian Philp.  His maternal grandparents were George Philp and Margaret Finlayson. He had five brothers and two sisters, named George, James, David, Robert, Robert, Margaret and Christian.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 79 on November 9th, 1866 in Broxburn.  He was buried in Broxburn.^3 4
