Elizabeth was born in 1852 in Shotts.1 2  Elizabeth's father was William Murray and her mother was Jane Bell. She had a brother and five sisters, named William, Janet, Turner, Isabella, Ann and Alexandrina.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 70 in 1922.  She was buried in Shotts.1
