Anne was born on January 10th, 1844 in Monkton.1  Anne's father was David McMurran and her mother was Allison McClymont.  Her paternal grandparents were Jonathon McMurren and Susan McAllan. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Jonathon, Susanah and Elisabeth.  She was the oldest of the five children.
