Andrew's father was David McGeoch and his mother was Sarah Jane McBride. His paternal grandparents were George McGeoch and Janet Drummond. He had four brothers named George, David, William and Alexander. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 66 in 1950 in Paisley.
