William McBarron

William was born on February 2nd, 1899 in South Shields.¹

William's father was William McBarron and his mother was Annie Robertson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas McBarron and Martha Welsh; his maternal grandparents were David Robertson and Mary Eaglesome Smith Frew. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Patrick, Thomas, George, James, Annie, Martha, Mary and Martha. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He had three half-brothers named Alexander, Walter and Alexander. He died as a war casualty at the age of 19 on September 28th, 1918 in France. He was buried in France.²³

  From August 3rd, 1915 his occupation was Able Seaman for Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. He died on September 28th, 1918 while still employed there.⁴
