David Johnston

David was born in September 1843 in Dalmeny and his baptism took place there on October 8th, 1843.¹

  29 in 1871, if this is him living next door to parents, so that would mean born 1841/42

David's father was John Johnston and his mother was Ann Hardie Dick. His paternal grandparents were John Johnston and Isabella Baxter; his maternal grandparents were David Dick and Janet Grant. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Andrew, Robert, George, James, Janet and Isabella. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 35 on April 9th, 1879 in Portobello.
