John Hamilton

John was born in 1848 in Paisley.¹ John's father was John Hamilton and his mother was Janet Fraser. His paternal grandparents were John Hamilton and Isabella Erskine; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Fraser and Helen Hamilton. He had a brother and six sisters, named Thomas, Helen, Isabella, Janet, Jessie, Mary and Maggie. He was the oldest of the eight children.
