Michael's father was William Drumond and his mother was Mary Tours.  His maternal grandparents were Michaill Towrs and Agnes Stewart. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named James, William, William, Agnes, Agnes, Helen, Mary, Janet, Margaret, Margaret and Elisabeth.  Michael and Elisabeth were twins.  He died at the age of 42 in 1857 in Glasgow.
