John William Chittick

John was born on September 29th, 1914 in Philadelphia.¹ John's father was John Devitt Chittick and his mother was Margaret B. Keebler. His paternal grandparents were William Chittick and Annie W. Smirl. He had two sisters named Margaret and Jean. He was the oldest of the three children. He died as a war casualty, died in action in Villebaudon, Normandy, at the age of 29 on July 30th, 1944 in Normandy.¹

- Until 1940 John's occupation was salesman, electrical goods in sales.²
  
  From April 27th, 1942 his occupation was first lieutenant for 29th Infantry Division, US Army. He died on July 30th, 1944 while still employed there.³
