Thomas' father was Alexander Brash and his mother was Janet Crawford.  His paternal grandparents were David Brash and Margaret Easton. He had four brothers and two sisters, named David, Alexander, Thomas, David, Brash and Sibella.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 1 on August 29th, 1818 in Leith.
