Margaret was born in 1822 in Midlothian.1  Margaret's father was David Brash and her mother was Agnes Henderson.  Her paternal grandparents were David Brash and Margaret Easton. She had a brother and five sisters, named Alexander, Agnes, Robina, Elizabeth, Magdalene and Jane.
