Mary's father was James Bone and her mother was Elizabeth Mcnider.  Her paternal grandparents were David Bone and Margaret Smith. She had five brothers named David, James, William, Alexander and Robert.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 70 in 1909 in Monkton.
